Friday Dances and Themed Balls
We continue a long tradition of fun social dances for our students. Attending parties is the perfect way to practice what you learn on your private and group lessons in a social setting. That saying “Practice makes perfect!” is true, especially within the warm, hospitable environment of The Ballroom Dance Center. Total beginners to advanced dancers are welcome. Our dances are also open to the public.
Dances are offered once a month, usually on the Fourth Friday, at the studio. Occasionally, we have a few performance numbers featuring our students. The staff and instructors circulate to invite guests to dance and to even show them a new step or two. A helpful and entertaining lesson is offered at the beginning of each dance. At some dances, the dance card system is used where pre-registered students get to dance with the teachers on a pre-assigned rotation for the first part of the dance. The dance is from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Admission is $15 to our dance parties and $20 to our themed balls.
Augusta Dance Challenge
August, 16-17, 2024
Friday: 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday night features club dance heats and solo performances. Saturday offers a friendly dance challenge with beginner to advanced pro/am and amateur dancing in Smooth, Rhythm, Standard, and Latin. Lunch is included. Following the day’s competition, all will have time to rest before returning to the studio for dinner and awards.
