Friday Dances and Themed Balls

We continue a long tradition of fun social dances for our students. Attending parties is the perfect way to practice what you learn on your private and group lessons in a social setting. That saying “Practice makes perfect!” is true, especially within the warm, hospitable environment of The Ballroom Dance Center. Total beginners to advanced dancers are welcome. Our dances are also open to the public.

Dances are offered twice monthly, usually on the Second and Fourth Fridays, at the studio. Occasionally, at our Fourth Friday Dances or Balls, we have a few performance numbers featuring our students. The staff and instructors circulate to invite guests to dance and to even show them a new step or two. A helpful and entertaining lesson is offered at the beginning of each dance.

The Second Friday Dances will feature mostly Club Style Dances including West Coast Swing, Salsa, Hustle, Bachata, and Argentine Tango. Your hosts will be Joshua Griffin and Brandie and Stephen Rozier. The Second Friday Dance is from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Admission to the Second Friday Dance is $10. You may pay at the door or register in advance.

The Fourth Friday Dances will feature mostly Ballroom and Rhythm Style Dances. These include Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, and East Coast Swing. At the Fourth Friday Dances, the dance card system is used where pre-registered students get to dance with the teachers on a pre-assigned rotation for the first part of the dance. The Fourth Friday Dances are from 7:00 pm until 9:30 pm with a lesson beginning at 7:00 pm. The lesson will usually be the dances being taught at the next month’s beginner classes. Admission to the Fourth Friday Dance is $10. You may pay at the door or register in advance.

We have four themed balls throughout the year. Our February Ball will have a theme related to the April Show. In the fall, we have our Haunted Eye Ball in October, Thankful Ball in November, and Snow Ball in December. We offer theme-related food and soft drinks at our balls. Admission to the themed balls is $20. The Balls are from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm with a lesson beginning at 7:00 pm. Pre-registration is recommended to ensure that we have food for everyone.
