The Ballroom Dance Center has been teaching Augusta to dance since 1992, which makes it the longest continuously operating ballroom dance studio in the CSRA. Dance Smart at The Ballroom Dance Center!
Friday Dances and Themed Balls
We continue a long tradition of fun social dances for our students. Attending parties is the perfect way to practice what you learn on your private and group lessons in a social setting. That saying “Practice makes perfect!” is true, especially within the warm, hospitable environment of The Ballroom Dance Center. Total beginners to advanced dancers are welcome. Our dances are also open to the public and are offered twice a month, usually on the second and fourth Fridays, at the studio.
The Second Friday Dance is from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and offers a chance for you to enjoy mostly Club Style and Line Dances including West Coast Swing, the Hustle, Salsa, Merengue, Argentine Tango, and Bachata as well as some Smooth and Rhythm dances included. Admission is $10 per person to the Second Friday Dance. You may pay at the door or pre-register by calling the studio at 706-854-8888.
The Fourth Friday Dance is from 7:00 p. m. until 9:30 p. m. and begins with a free dance lesson from 7:00 p. m. until 7:30 p. m. At some of the dances, the dance card system is used where pre-registered students get to dance with the teachers on a pre-assigned rotation for the first part of the dance. However, our staff and instructors are always circulating throughout the dance to invite our guests to dance and even show them a step or two. Join us at the Fourth Friday Dance and enjoy dancing Smooth, Rhythm, and Club Style dances with some Line Dances thrown in for good measure! Admission is $10 per person to the Fourth Friday Dance. There are four themed balls throughout the year that run from 7:00 p. m. until 10:00 p. m. The February ball has a theme related to the April show. In the fall, we have the Haunted Eye Ball in October, the Thankful Ball in November, and the Snow Ball in December. Enjoy a free dance lesson, theme-related refreshments and soft drinks, and dancing throughout the evening to some of your favorite dance music related to the theme of the ball. Admission is $20 per person to the themed balls. You may pay at the door or pre-register by calling the studio at 706-854-8888. Pre-registration is recommended to ensure that we have enough food prepared to serve everyone.
